Earth Day Project #2

This afternoon our class spent time discussing things we could do to help save and protect the earth.  We also started our Earth Day Plant Project.  We used recycled materials (apple sauce containers and recycled tissue paper scraps) to create pots to plant our baby spider plants tomorrow!  I can’t wait to see all the finished products!

Here are our little artists at work!

Our Earth Day Projects Have Begun!

We had a great morning working with our Kindergarten Reading buddies this morning. We created some beautiful Earth Day Posters to display around the school.

Final Products

After a great day of creating our “Multi-Animal Creatures” and their habitats, each student has created their own interesting and unique creature to take home.  We had a fun day spent designing and sculpting our individual creations.

Here are our final products!

Artists at Work!

The Grade 2’s had a great day with their special guests from the McLaren Art Centre.  We learned a lot about creating art from clay; including how to attach pieces by scoring the clay and using the special tools to help shape the clay into a creature.

Take a look at some of the different techniques we learned today.

Quick Reminder!

The Grade 2’s have a special presentation happening on Monday April 4, 2016.  If you have not returned the permission form, please do so before Monday!

Miss Loftus

We had some crazy hair in Grade 2 today!  There was colourful hair and some very wild hair styles.  Thanks to all those who participated today!

Snow Day Fun!

Today all of the Grade 2’s got a chance to go out and play in all the fresh snow that we received yesterday!  Thanks to the Kindergarten’s for letting us borrow their Crazy Carpets to slide down the hill.  We had a great time!
